Colorado State University Student Honored

TROY, Mich. (Jan. 4, 2007) - Kelly Engineering Resources, a business unit of global staffing provider Kelly Services, Inc., today announced the winner of its Future Engineers Scholarship program.

The scholarship recipient, Daniel Wilson of Fort Collins, Colo., is a mechanical engineering student at Colorado State University. Wilson's essay on the importance of tomorrow's engineers earned him a $5,000 educational scholarship from Kelly.

"Daniel's exceptional essay illustrates the forward thinking and ingenuity our future workforce is capable of offering potential employers," said Teresa Carroll, vice president and general manager of Kelly Engineering Resources. "There is an eminent shortage of talent in our industry, so Kelly Engineering applauds students like Daniel for their hard work and commitment to the field of engineering."

Sponsors of the 2007 Kelly Engineering Resources Future Engineers Scholarship program included the Engineering Society of Detroit, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Automation Alley, Chemical Processing magazine, and Power Engineering magazine.

Kelly Engineering Resources created the Future Engineers Scholarship program to encourage student interest in an engineering career, to foster excellence in the engineering field and to help alleviate a critical current and future shortage of highly qualified engineers.

Through this program, sophomore- and junior-level college engineering students who meet certain criteria compete for a scholarship by submitting essays on contemporary industry topics. Candidates are evaluated on their demonstrated potential for commitment to a career in engineering, outstanding academic performance, and depth of knowledge about the issue addressed.
