Kelly Engineering Resources Offers $5,000 Future Engineers Scholarship

TROY, Mich. (March 27, 2007) - To support the efforts of the future workforce, Kelly Engineering Resources is now accepting entries for its fifth annual Future Engineers Scholarship program, which recognizes exceptional engineering students throughout the nation.

Kelly Engineering Resources created the Future Engineers Scholarship program to encourage student interest in a career in engineering, to foster excellence in the engineering field, and to help alleviate a critical current and future shortage of highly qualified engineers.

All sophomore- and junior-level college engineering students who meet the program criteria are invited to compete for the scholarship by submitting essays on contemporary engineering topics. Candidates will be evaluated on their demonstrated potential for and commitment to a career in engineering, outstanding academic performance and depth of knowledge about the issue or challenge addressed in the essay.

In December 2007, the student with the winning essay will be presented a $5,000 scholarship, which may be used toward eligible expenses for tuition, fees, books, and room and board during the 2008 calendar year.

Partners of the 2007-08 program with Kelly Engineering Resources include Automation Alley, Baxter Healthcare Corporation, The Dow Chemical Company, Engineering Society of Detroit, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Chemical Processing magazine, Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry (MD&DI) magazine, and Power Engineering magazine.
