TROY, Mich. (July 23, 2009) - A college education is a priceless component of an engineer's life, as the lessons and knowledge that an engineer obtains at college are valuable throughout his or her career. Even though the cost of college is continually increasing, all students should have an opportunity to pursue college degrees. In order to help engineering students achieve their dreams, Kelly Engineering Resources, a specialized business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., established the Future Engineers Scholarship in 2003.
The scholarship program recognizes exceptional sophomore- and junior-level college engineering students throughout the nation. All students who meet the program's criteria are invited to compete for the scholarship by submitting an essay on a designated, current engineering topic. Candidates will be evaluated on their demonstrated potential for and commitment to engineering careers, outstanding academic performances, and depth of knowledge of issues or challenges addressed in their essays.
In December 2009, the student with the winning essay will receive a $5,000 scholarship that can be used toward expenses for tuition, fees, books, and housing during the 2010 calendar year.
All submission materials and guidelines, as well as the essay topic and question, are available at www.kellyengineering.com/scholarships. Kelly Engineering Resources must receive scholarship applications by October 15, 2009.
