The Oakwood School in North Carolina joins more than 2,700 schools in the United States and the United Kingdom to utilize substitute teacher staffing solution

TROY, Mich. (November 30, 2004) - Kelly Educational Staffing, a service line of global staffing provider Kelly Services, has been selected by The Oakwood School in Greenville, North Carolina to provide substitute teachers during the 2004 - 2005 school year.

The Oakwood School is the first school in North Carolina to work with Kelly Educational Staffing, marking the 42nd state in addition to the District of Columbia where Kelly provides substitute teachers in more than 445,000 K - 12 public and private classrooms annually. "We are delighted to partner with Kelly Educational Staffing to identify quality substitute teachers for our classrooms," said Jim Barker, Assistant Head of School.

Established in 1999, Kelly Educational Staffing employs 8,000 substitute teachers who meet all state and local certification requirements. Kelly substitute teachers are prepared for the classroom by completing an orientation/training session and utilizing comprehensive grade-appropriate handbooks developed by The Substitute Teaching Institute at Utah State University. These tools enable Kelly substitute teachers to ensure a quality learning experience for students. "Schools adopt this program because we can meet the unique staffing challenges a school may have while positively impacting student achievement," said Teresa Setting, vice president for Kelly Educational Staffing. "Additionally, it saves schools considerable time and resources needed to address the daily burden of recruiting and scheduling substitute teachers when the regular teacher is absent."

Standard features of Kelly Educational Staffing include recruiting, screening, orientation/training, scheduling, quality control and retention of substitute teachers. Kelly assumes all employer obligations related to a school's substitute teacher program, including payroll taxes, worker's compensation and unemployment compensation. Kelly offers substitute teachers the prevailing wage and provides benefits generally unavailable to substitute teachers.
