Kelly Scientific Resources Celebrates 10 Years of Staffing Success

August 11, 2005

Keeping pace with the worldwide staffing needs of multi-national customers

TROY, Mich., Aug. 11 -- What began a decade ago as one small branch in San Francisco servicing a handful of local customers, has since developed into a world leading scientific and clinical research staffing company with more than 100 locations in 16 countries.

Since its launch in 1995, Kelly Scientific Resources has quickly become a global resource, with the ability to attract high-level talent and place qualified candidates anywhere in the world. Today, the scientific staffing division of Kelly Services currently employs more than 400 clinical research professionals and 4,500 scientists.

"If a customer is in need of a scientific professional in just about any major location in the world, we can deliver," said Chris Jock, vice president and general manager of Kelly Scientific Resources. "And we're able to provide our services with the same level of consistency and quality, whether the customer is located in San Francisco or Singapore."

Within the first five years of operation, Kelly Scientific Resources opened nearly 50 U.S. branch locations and 20 international offices. With the largest global footprint of any other scientific staffing provider, Kelly Scientific is poised to service the worldwide staffing needs of its multi- national customers.

"There's no other company or government body interviewing 20,000 scientists a year," said Jock. "This makes us a very focused scientific staffing provider, a consultant who can go into companies and advise where to best set up new operations or what the cost implications are for doing this business in a certain country."

Unique achievements of Kelly Scientific Resources in the last decade include:

* In 2001, acquired Search Masters International, a scientific and executive search firm with an industry focus on the biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields.

* In 2000, established the Kelly Scientific Future Scientists Program, which places more than 300 students yearly at major chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotech companies across North America.

* In 1999, entered the Australian market through the acquisition of Labstaff, the longest-established scientific staffing company in Australia. Kelly Scientific Resources is now Australia's largest scientific staffing company with offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.

* In 1998, Kelly was the first staffing company to launch an interactive, web-based training product, The Kelly Scientific Learning Center(TM), which offers more than 1,200 scientific and continuing education courses to professionals in today's workforce.
