"While the effects of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita are still producing noise, business activity and job creation continue to progress at a positive pace.
"Recovery efforts by government agencies, insurance firms, and other private companies have spurred rapid job creation. While the surge has predominantly revolved around the construction trade, office and clerical staffing support have also shown healthy signs of improvement.
"In spite of the storms, the demand for staffing services continues to escalate across the employment spectrum. After slowing over the last several quarters, placements in light industrial staffing have improved, and growth within the temporary to permanent placement sector also remains solid.
"Overall, the employment picture shows ongoing stability heading into the fourth quarter."
